The Director of the Republic Statistical Office Dr Miladin Kovacevic stated that 41.56% of eligible citizens had taken the vote in the Republic of Serbia by 4 pm. 38.50% of eligible citizens had taken the vote in the Belgrade region, 44.00% in the region of Vojvodina, 42.78% in the region of Sumadija and Western Serbia and 42.11% in the region of Southern and Eastern Serbia. These results do not cover the turnout of voter from AP Kosovo-Metohija.
The Chairperson of the Republic Electoral Commission Vladimir Dimitrijevic again noted that the Belgrade region still has the lowest turnout. He also noted that some media had reported of several incidents in the course of the voting day outside of the polling stations. Therefore he appealed to the activists of all the parties, associations and other participants in the electoral process to calm down so that we can all end today in peace, without conflict, and show that our state shares the democratic values of the civilized world. He noted that the voting process is progressing without any bigger problems, as is expected in a democratically ordered state.
