The Director of the Republic Statistical Office Dr Miladin Kovacevic stated that 31.56% of eligible citizens had taken the vote in the Republic of Serbia by 2 pm. 28.64% of eligible citizens had taken the vote in the Belgrade region, 34.09 % in the region of Vojvodina, 31.94% in the region of Sumadija and Western Serbia and 32.91% in the region of Southern and Eastern Serbia. These results do not cover the turnout of voter from AP Kosovo-Metohija.
The Chairperson of the Republic Electoral Commission Vladimir Dimitrijevic noted that the Belgrade region has the lowest turnout. He said that the voting process is being conducted in a democratic and fair atmosphere and that there have been no notable irregularities at the polling stations. He remarked on the long lines at almost all the polling stations mainly because the physical volume of the work performed there is increased because of the coordinated conducts of all the elections.
Dimitrijevic said that an SNS voter had broken the ballot box in Surdulica, adding that he expected the relevant bodies to detain him and react in accordance with their legal authorities.
