The Director of the Republic Statistical Office Dr Miladin Kovacevic stated that 9.59% of eligible citizens had taken the vote in the Republic of Serbia by 10 am. 8.53% of eligible citizens had taken the vote in the Belgrade region, 12.32% in the region of Vojvodina, 8.02% in the region of Sumadija and Western Serbia and 9.15% in the region of Southern and Eastern Serbia. Kovacevic stressed that these results do not cover the turnout of voter from AP Kosovo-Metohija.
The Chairperson of the Republic Electoral Commission Vladimir Dimitrijevic drew special attention to two places with an exceptionally high voter turnout by 10 am - Karavukovo with 24.8% of eligible voters and Sivac with 21.9%.
Dimitrijevic said that representatives of all the lists, as well as observers, 5,218 accredited in total, are present at all the polling stations, 4,618 of which are domestic observers from nine associations and 531 are foreign observers from 23 foreign organisations, associations or representatives of foreign states accredited to observe the work of all the electoral management bodies in every stage of the electoral process.
The Commission Chairperson went on to say that there have been no irregularities and that the problems at polling station 77 in Novi Pazar have been resolved and the voting process is continuing unimpeded.
